Subject: Homebrew BBC Basic

I don't think a Z80 PIO would be much use for Econet.  You might be
thinking of the Z80 SIO which is used by most of the Z80-based Econet
devices.  

I guess the datasheet for that chip would be the first port of call.
You'd have to build a bit of a line interface circuit but that could
probably be adapted more or less wholesale from the one that's used on
the BBC/Master.  Other than that I think the electronics should be
fairly straightforward, it'd just be a case of hooking the SIO up to
your CPU in some appropriate way.
