Next time, you should do as the people in comp.sys.sinclair sometimes say:
"I'll get my (rain) coat". :-D

Out of curiosity, is a rental car completely out of the picture both cost
and time wise? I would suppose the major rental companies would let you drop
off a car at a "foreign" place instead of where you picked it up. Trains and
buses are better from a collective exhaust point of view but if the time
tables are incompatible, a car sometimes is the only choice.

Anyway, with the number of retro computing events being held these days
finally there is plenty of choice which one(s) you can attend. I understand
if some are more exciting than others, but surely the total number of events
around the world has multiplied many-fold in the last 2-3 years. Thanks to
low cost airlines, sometimes even people from abroad can come without
spending the whole vacation budget. This year I'll start with Germany,
perhaps next year I'll have the opportunity to visit some UK show.

Best regards
