I *like* my eeePC. I can't believe how zippy it is running XP in 1Gb on
a 1.6MHz HT CPU.
Aiko, my other computer [*], runs XP in 128Mb (!) [**] on a 450MHz P3.
It is functional, if not exactly nippy. Or cutting edge.
I wonder how many others habitually use 'old' PCs?
* - I have a 1.1GHz AMD, 1Gb RAM, ~340Gb HDDs but this runs a VNC server
and is used primarily for video conversions, or as a place to dump
recorded stuff until I either watch it or offload to DVD-Rs.
** - I have tried a variety of memory modules in it. She only wants to
give me access to 128Mb...
Best wishes,
Rick.
