Subject: Master ethernet upgrade

The Econet interface in that machine doesn't actually work. It appeared
to be a bit of home-made unfinished business when it was sold to me a
few years back. Sometimes the Beeb won't power up at all, sometimes
you get a different station number, all depending on where you apply
pressure on the board that plugs into the motherboard. Even when it
works, unfortunately it won't connect to the network, just gives No clock
or Net error or Line jammed. I don't recall it stopping the rest of the
network, but I think I've only tested it in fairly isolated circumstances.

That's not to say that something similar couldn't be used to plug the
Master Ethernet Module (which is totally brilliant by the way and solves
all my file transfer problems) into a BBC B.

Best wishes,

Ian

I knew I'd seen this somewhere, turns out to be on Ian W's site!!

Could you use that adaptor to use these in a B? Taking into account a
rewrite of the code, or fitting a C type processor?

Mark.
