Subject: WinTTX licencing
Hello all!
Further to my other posting regarding WinTTX, I have marked up the
current sources as GNU GPL version 3.
I wish to remain the creator of this program, given the time and effort
I have expended in the project, I don't think releasing it as a
free-for-all is fair to me. GPL would appear to require the person to
assert copyright in order for the licence to be applicable. That's fair
enough.
The problem... is GPL the best licence? Is it the most suitable? I read
through the text, the long "copying.txt" file. I think I understood
maybe a third of it - is there a "GPL Plain English version"? :-)
If you have specific suggestions, it may be useful to discuss them here
as the merits of "free" licences can apply to Beeb software too; though
I would appreciate it very much if you could also private mail me the
appropriate "copying.txt"/"license.txt"(etc) file given my lack of
connectivity.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Rick.
