Subject: Tales of woe and stupidity

We had a customer bring a new Quantum hard drive back because he thought
something was arcing on the drive pcb, eventually we realised it was the
green surface mount activity led flashing that he could see.

Another customer bought back a rather expensive Seagate SCSI drive which
he said it wasn't working.
As soon as we saw it we could see he'd peeled off all the labels on the
outside and a closer look at the screws revealed he'd taken the whole
thing apart.
He said it had made a funny noise and had taken it apart to see if there
was anything loose inside !
Needless to say we didn't replace it and he left with the details of
Seagate.
A few weeks later he came back in and told us that Seagate had replaced
the drive, i have my doubts.
