AM26LS34 is a receiver, not a line driver.  I haven't looked at my
bridge to make sure but it would make sense to have one of each.

Farnell do carry stock of the AM26LS32 and SN75175, both of which are
fairly similar parts to the AM26LS34.  The SN75175 isn't 100% pin
compatible (the enable inputs work a bit differently) but I think it's
probably close enough that you could plug it in and have it work.  The
'32 is pin compatible with the '34 but has a lower input impedance;
again I suspect it is probably close enough that it would work OK on a
small network.

Yes, thanks, that was indeed useful.  It'd still be interesting to see
the output with the additional network but don't worry about it if this
will be difficult to arrange.
