Old fashioned pencil with an eraser stuck to the end. Useful to have
around when the supermarket machine says "CARTE MUETTE", which I think
means "buggered!". For some reason the girls seem to think energetically
rubbing a bank card on their clothing will fix it - but I'm afraid that
reminds me too much of rubbing paper on yourself before sticking pieces
to a balloon. Now, girls and boys, tell me what static electricity does
to delicate electronic devices...? :-)

So, yes, a gentle rub with an eraser brightens up the contacts. Works on
a GameBoy too!

Best wishes,

Rick.
