I don't remember the deck being Hi-Fi, I'm certain they were video
heads due to the extremely rock-solid and completely noise-free still
frame mode.

Hehe, I've got a Sanyo VTC-9300PN in my kitchen right now. Very basic
in terms of features but built like some kind of massively
over-engineered tank. It still works fine. I've got some later Sony
slimline front-loading ones too, including the Hi-Fi stereo SL-C9, but
unfortunately that one doesn't work.
