Woah - so we're looking at 25-30 machines as a minimum now?

If we are to keep the "Island" looking remotely respectable, then there
clearly won't be room to accommodate all of those unless we add more surface
space.

So here's an alternative proposal:

Instead of using 4 x 4ft tables we line up 8 x 6ft tables (using 5 for Econet
and 3 for other exhibits) at the expense of the central aisle. It would also
mean that we have to kiss goodbye to the 'repairs' area, though on reflection
I'm not sure if that's such a wise idea after all (health and safety etc).

Anyway, this would mean you could have four machines lined up along the bottom
(which could be used as Caver terminals), four along the top and three along
the right-hand side (vertically).

You could also have a further four machines set up underneath the top row of
tables, and three more machines underneath the right-most table (I'd want the
area underneath the 4 x Caver Beebs kept clear).

Oh, and obviously the other benefit is that you'd now have an area in the
middle that you could use for Fileservers etc.

** UNFORTUNATELY **

... we're already short on 6ft tables as it is.

However, if you Econet-heads were to pool together and hire 8 x matching 6ft
trestle tables from a local equipment-hire company, then I'd probably be
prepared to switch to the above proposal. Thoughts?
