I no longer see the need to set up a 'communal' network in the Emley suite.

The Caver setup would be self-contained.

Likewise, the BBS setup and BeebEm AUN can also be self-contained.

I've already spoken to Retroclinic Mark and he no longer requires an Econet
connection to his table (if visitors ask to see demonstrations of
DataCentre/CF-Flash interacting with Econet, then he can simply point them
towards the lobby area [where hopefully you'll have stations #60, #62 and #63
and set up]).

I haven't checked with Sprow, but I'm sure I remember somebody saying they
were bringing a Sprow ethernet card, so again, if that's going to be used in
the 'secondary econet area', Robert could direct anyone wishing to see a
working demonstration to the lobby.

SO ... please can we all forget about routing cables from the far end of the
Emley Suite all the way through to the lobby, as that just /ain't/ going to
happen! ;)

Incidentally, myself and Joel did enquire about wall-sockets on Sunday, but
were advised that the sockets in the walls were only phone-points, not
ethernet ports.

Thanks, that's very noble of you! :-) I believe Rob and JGH have copies of
Caver.

However, before you commit a server to the cause (presumably the A3020?) I was
wondering if JGH would be kind enough to allow us to use his A7000 instead, to
a) serve Caver to the 3 x Beebs and b) serve general 8-bit games to the fourth
Beeb on the 'island'?

My reasoning being:
- as Jonathan is a bit more local (Sheffield vs East Anglia) he may be able to
arrive a little earlier on the Saturday morning
- I get the impression Jonathan already has experience of running/configuring
Caver

... but if JGH tells me to get knotted, you can bet that I'll be back
cap-in-hand, grovelling for your A3020! ;)
