Perhaps the next DIY project should be some sort of radio transmission
system for Econet? I dimly recall Maplin doing modules that could
transmit digital data at around 416MHz? Going back to the late '90s, but
we'd only need a range of 20-odd metres for most normal situations, and
the data rate isn't terribly high. Not sure how something like flag fill
would be handled, this would probably fail miserably with an ad-hoc
layout like WiFi can offer. More likely two units will be supplied as a
pair and together they will look, to Econet, like a bridge.

Surely if they were Ethernet, they'd be wired directly to a distribution
panel or router of some sort, thus socket-to-socket for passing Econet
signalling wouldn't work?

Best wishes,

Rick.
