Yep. Some of them used a Kalok Octagon. Wonderfully unreliable --
typical lifetime of about 3-6 months, in my experience.
One of those stupid things got me banned from the school IT lab

LOL!
I started off with a Spectrum +2A, then got a 486 PC a bit later on. I
seem to recall being pretty good at Lemmings.. :)
Though I was never exposed to MFM drives until school and the
aforementioned Acorn A410 + 40MB Octagon. I seem to recall having a
120MB Conner in my 486, later upgraded to an 800MB Maxtor (which I think
I still have... somewhere)
I do have some seriously old drives from other machines though...
notably an 80MB IBM and a 100MB Fujitsu. Oh, and the Conner CFS425 that
was liberated from the RiscPC (which if memory serves currently has a
4GB or 6GB Seagate U4).
