OK, this is how it works, because I think you're getting confused.

A hashtag is appended to the usual Twitter messages to form a link between
stuff of a similar subject/event.

For instance...

  http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23pcbd09

...is #pcbd09, which is the event I went to over the weekend. You don't
need to 'set one up', just agree on one to use.

It is different to the @retroreunited one, which is a profile name. For
instance, I'm @capn_b as stated before.

So I'm proposing we settle on one which is SHORT (because it has to be
posted within the 140-character limit), and applies to the event as a whole
because I don't think that many people will be twittering there. Certainly
not many of the Acorn lot...
