The standard ADFS disc image formats are indeed interleaved, so
sectors appear in the file in the order they are usually used by ADFS.
(Unlike DSD images, where DFS would normally use all of drive 0 then
all of drive 2 ..)

GoMMC, on the other hand, deals with non-interleaved images, (all of
head 0, then all of head 1) so whilst you can take a single sided disc
image file off it and rename it as an SSD, and get it to work in an
emulator, you can't do that for any larger image taken from it.

JW has amended later versions of DFS & ADFS Explorer with an
"Interleaved disc" flag option to allow use of either sort of image
(and the ability to drag files between separate instances, in order to
convert them.)
