Subject: OT: RM Nimbus

Apologies for the off topic post.

I seem to remeber talking to a couple of people at the RR09 show last
week, that they needed info about the RM Nimbus. I've just unburied my
box of Nimbus manuals so here's the monitor connections.

Colour

Connector is an 8 pin DIN, numbered looking into the socket (judging by
the picture in the manual), with pin 1 on the right, and standard pin
numbering for a DIN socket.

Pin Function
1 high-light (intensity ?)
2 line sync
3 red
4 ground
5 blue
6 green
7 12V
8 frame sync

Signals are TTL level, and is factory set to drive an IBM type RGBI
monitor (presumably CGA/EGA type)

Monochrome

Conector is a 6 pin DIN, same as with the BBC RGB socket.

Pin Function
1 composite video (mono)
2 ground
3 frame sync
4 line sync
5 audio output
6 audio mute input

In looking it also appears that I have 5 copies of the owner's guide, 3
of the old 3 ring binder type and two if the spiral binder type, not
sure what the difference is. I'd want to keep one of each but if anyone
else would find a manual usefull, then I'm sure we can come to some
arrangement, if you contact me off list, would prolly only want to cover
the cost of postage.

Oh and I also found the Nimbus BBC basic manual too :)

Cheers.

Phill.
