While not being exactly the same thing, I remember e.g. Lisp has the
lambda() construct which lets you define a nameless function on the fly. It
was many years ago I used it, but to some part it could be said to be
similar to the nested functionality? I believe one can make lambda contructs
in other kinds of languages as well, although perhaps those are kludges to
respective language.
