The key repeat has been set to zero. *Configure Repeat 5 will fix
it, if you can manage to type that ;)
When you log onto my server as Boot the startup program sets a
variety of default configurations depending on machine and station
number, so if a machine gets it's configuration knackered, it's
fixed next time I do Shift-Break. Similarly, on my A5000 there's a
backup Config file stored in System. I'd recommend having a setup
disk with the following !Boot file on it:
*| Master (MOS 3) boot configuration file
*Echo Initialising BBC Master...
*Fx162,6,255
*Fx162,7,255
*Configure Delay 32
*Configure Repeat 5
*Configure Lang 12
*Configure Mode 7
*Configure TV 0,1
*Configure ShCaps
*Configure Ignore
*Configure Print 4
*Configure PS 0.254
*Configure FS 0.254
*Configure File 9
*Configure NoDir
*Configure NoBoot
*Configure Space
*Configure Baud 7
*Configure Data 4
*-Net-Opt6,1
*-Net-Opt5,0
*UnProt
Then, as long as you can get to DFS (*Insert 9, Ctrl-D-Break),
Shift-Breaking the disk will set a sane environment.
