Yes, if 'new' means 'new concept' rather than 'not pre-exsiting
option'. I deliberately designed the IDE interface back in Jan 2004
to be just another hard drive interface that was seen as just
another hard drive interface and sat in the hardware memory map as
just another hard drive interface.
