Subject: Microvitec monitors available

During the eighties, I used to repair a lot of computer monitors for local
schools and colleges and now in 2009, my wife has decided that I should move
on much of the surplus equipment that I still have. Amongst this stuff is 13
Microvitec 14" RGB colour monitors, 10 metal and 3 plastic. From memory, there
are types 1431/1441 and maybe even a 1451 as well. I can recall that a few of
them work OK, whilst many are completely dead or have poor picture quality.
I don't want to have to dump these monitors as I know that there may be
enthusiasts who might have the time and inclination to take on some repairs.

Some years ago, I extracted the 3 best ones for workshop use and these still
get used from time to time. The others are what is left from my former repair
activities. I do have a service manual which I probably want to keep but could
make available for photocopying if need be. The monitors are in Dartford, Kent.
Are there any takers please. Remember that these monitors have lethal voltages
inside and the covers should only be removed by suitably-qualified persons.

I would be inconvenienced if I had to take on the task of testing each one
and so would be keen to see them all go at once to someone that has the space
and testing facilities to swap parts to make maybe three or four working units.

With thanks,

Kim N. Faulkner
