Indeed, I can comfirm this having played (a little) with mailman at work.

Indeed I have tried emailing him in the past regarding this (several 
months back), and silence was the loud reply.

I'm glad it's not just me, putting aside the fact that he may not have 
recieved either of our mails, it does make me wonder what sort of a 
person he is setting up a mailing list and then ignoring direct mails to 
the list administrator, at the least seems a little irrisponsible.
