Humm, the 286/386 machines ued a ps/2 keyboard too, so maybey they 
upgraded the Nimbus to use a ps/2 also, or maybe I'm miss remembering, 
though my machines deffo have a 5 pin DIN connector, so maybe it's the 
old AT standard which is of course ps/2 compatible...

Don't think it's a serial port, it's more like the old ST and Amiga mice 
where there was no intellegence and the output from the wheel encoders 
was connected direct to the D9. I have several spares, I'll bring a 
couple along.
