Much as the Reply-To irritates me, unless/until something else goes
wrong, staying here suits me better. It does concern me that James
seems to be invisible at the moment, but there could be many reasons for
that, not all sinister. A similar thing happens, often for long periods
of time, on another list I use.
Does anyone remember if list subscription is fully automated, or if sub
requests have to be approved? If the latter (as I suspect) then we
perhaps have a problem :-)
As for the off-topic traffic, I see it as just another topic that isn't
of direct lasting interest. It isn't/wasn't high volume, and most lists
I'm on have similarly short-lived bursts of off-topic traffic once in a
while. Nothing to get exercised about.
