I use both analogue and PC-based scopes (Picoscope etc).
I would recommend something like this:

They come up quite regularly and make an excellent workhorse for simple
scope checking on 8-bit circuitry (I use one myself). The built-in
component tester is particularly useful for finding dodgy in-circuit
diodes, transistors, caps, etc.

Subject: [BBC-Micro] OT: Oscilloscope
Hi all.
OT, but am sure someone here might be able to help. It is time I added
an
oscilloscope to my resources to aid fault finding and diagnostics in
(mostly) BBC related kit.
Was looking to spend around ?100. Saw a Hitachi V212 20MHz for ?50 /
V522
50MHz ?65 or possibly a PC connected Digital Storage Scope 40MHz like
this

Does anyone have any thoughts which might be a good direction to go in?
-Mark
