Yes, Dilbert rocks, but the soapbox rant didn't have an awful lot in
common with what I mentioned. I *know* an upload will affect the IP
conversation. What I said was the up channel was, at one point, running
at a speed that could be measured in characters per MINUTE, so much so
that the test program reported ZERO bps.
Oh, and the test program is smart. It won't work if there is something
else "on the line", else you could fire off a big download then moan the
transfer rate is naff.
But anyway, yes, Dilbert's good.

Either you guys aren't charging enough, or you are being too nice
and not saying "isn't our product, sod off". You could always offer
to sell a technical support service for ?50/incident...
