I've done that with a couple of loads of stuff that I wanted rid of
quickly - I'm quite used to the problem of the stuff taking up the
same space that would be needed to sort the stuff out.

I split the auctions into groups of related items. The 8-bit load of
Commodore stuff I sold went for over ?250 (this was a few years ago
too), and the Amiga stuff went for a very similar amount. If I'm
selling a massive load of stuff, I always offer the service of
delivering it myself for the cost of the petrol, as I like driving.
Hopefully that broadens the market a bit - I've certainly been taken
up on the offer quite a few times.

The trip I enjoyed the most was spending all day driving a 500-mile
round trip in a 903cc Seat Ibiza (1989 vintage), with 14 old Apple
Macs, a monitor and a printer. I'd sold them on eBay for ?50 to
someone in Exeter, who then paid me another ?50 on top for the
delivery. He also bought me lunch from Subway while I was there.
