I just used a pair of scissors to cut a gap for the 'sync hole' (which
marks the beginning of the first sector). Some people used to claim
that the lining inside the outer sleeve had a 'pile' (like carpet pile)
and that turning the disk over would spin the disk counter to the pile,
damaging it. Urban myth I think.

I still have the punch used to cut out the additional write-protect
notch on the opposite side to the original. It's quite well made, in
metal painted blue. Does anyone want it for their collection before I
bin it?
