Have used Draytek routers for years and they are fab pieces of kit
considering what you pay for them, however I have found that they are
not as good as a Netgear834 for holding on to a dodgy line......
If you have a 2800 you can set the MaxDnRate and stop the BT ADSL trying
to sync at the fastest speed (failing, and then trying to sync again at
the next step down, failing etc). Start at 1M and work your way up until
the line goes unstable and then drop back to your fastest stable speed.
Note the 2820 doesn't have this command, it was dropped for some reason
:-(

Andrew
Yep, we have lots of Draytek Routers, and also Cisco in the Office!
Time to get out the radio!

Ah. Perhaps I missed this in your original message. Are you saying
that your sync speed varies a lot ? The way I read the original message
was that it had been OK up to Jan 2009 and was now very low.

Yep, spot on. I'm guessing that you're using a DrayTek router - not a
brand I've had any experience with I'm afraid.
So what's happened to bins 121 to 136 or so ? The fact that those bins
aren't being used at all but those either side are looks a tad
suspicious. 521kHz to 586 kHz: that's the bottom end of medium wave, so
I'd get my portable radio out and see if there's a big local signal
there.
