Subject: domain problem

Things might have changed since I used to be involved with DNS, but I was
under the impression your current ISP could approach the registrar and ask
for the transfer, and then both you and the old registrar were emailed for
your permission (admin and technical contact).

This sounds like a lazy move by your current host - have you tried
contacting the registrar directly for their view? Should be Netsol.com I'd
have thought.

Regards

Subject: [BBC-Micro] domain problem

Hi all,

As some of you may have noticed bbcdocs.com is down at the moment. You may
remember that I transferred it over to a new hosting service in March. It
appears these numpties forgot to transfer the domain. I cancelled my account
with the previous host 1&1 and now it has expired.

The new host says they cannot transfer an expired domain and I cannot renew
it through 1&1 as no longer have an account. Any suggestions what I need to
do to get it active again without waiting for the 90 day timeout of an
expired domain and the risk of losing it?

-Mark
