It depends on the machines you're trying to use.  If you just have
Masters (and/or other machines with the same interfaces) then you can
sometimes manage without terminators, but BBCs are a bit more fussy:
without at least one terminator to provide some voltage bias on the
line, they tend to always see it as busy.
