Subject: Omniflop and Jason Watton
The reason that Omniflop might not work with Windows 7 is that the
driver model changed,
Windows drivers (Post Vista) I think have to do much more stringent
integrity checking
(partly because of malware, and partly to prevent exploits that allow a
compromised driver to 'leak' data)
Also drivers IIRC have code signing to confirm they haven't been
tampered with by crackers..
In addition to tracking down the original authors of Omniflop, I would
also suggest trying to track down
an individual called Alex Ionescu, who may be able to point both
Ominflop's developers and yourself in
the direction of a way to get 'useful' products like Ominflop running in
Windows 7. You could also try asking
some of the senior ReactOS developers, who probably know more about
Windows driver development
than a sane person should XD :) .
