Of course; normal conc nitric is about 15M or 16M and is nothing like
fuming nitric, which is somewhere between 21M and 24M depending on
type/grade. That was part of my point :-) Mine is reagent grade so
about 16M. The water content makes a big difference to the corrosive power.
