On another programming mailing list somebody actually posted:

at the end of a long thread where he was hand-holded through every
twist and turn of his queries.

Yes, programming *is* easy, if you have the innate skill and aptitude
to do it. However, there seems to be increasing numbers of people who
just are not prepared to put the work into learning the fundamentals
that actually go some way to making it easy.

A recent thread went along the lines of:
- I want some code to work as an email client
- There's sample telnet, web, generic client/server programs in the
   files area, you can use them as a starting point
- Yes, but I was expecting somebody to actually provide me with the
   actual email client code, not something I have to work on myself.
