Subject: Contiki on BBC Micro

I think the lack of a BBC Micro target in the cc65 cross compiler prevented
me from even trying to compile Contiki. I used to "maintain" the VIC-20
port, but it ran out of memory and nobody had any use of it anyway so I
didn't go further. Just for fun, I compiled a pre-release of Contiki for the
Oric Atmos and it runs fine in the emulator so most probably the simplest of
implementations would run out of the box on a BBC Micro too, just given the
compiler has library and init support for this target.

What C compiler do BBC users otherwise use, or are those people the kind who
prefer to do everything natively?

Please note though that modern Contiki is aimed at embedded platforms,
usually far more advanced than the C64 and BBC Micro combined. I think it
was Groepaz/Hitmen who released a backported "Classic Contiki" a few years
ago, better suited at 8-bit home computers.

Best regards
