Subject: [BBC-Micro] ROMs

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me which sorts of chips will work as
ROMs in the BBC ROM slots.

Are there commercially available chips of one sort or another which will
fit and are easily programmable?

Thanks

Ben

The correct eproms are 27128 or 27c128, which may be easy to find, depends
where you look.

But I've checked and 27256, 27512 normal and C (cmos), also work.

As for easily programable, well most Eprom programmers would work, but you
still need to ensure you either have blank chips, or use a UV light source
to wipe them. Oh and check the datasheets to make sure you use the correct
programming voltage.

In all honesty, its sometimes easier to get someone else to do it.
