I agree.  I am not aware of any other differences.  A540 certainly
functions perfectly well with RISC iX.

R225 had the ROM Podule and no SCSI card.

Even R140 and 440/1 were identical, I just can't remember if the R140
ever came in the 440 format (With the backplane without the PAL on it)
If you boot RISC iX without that it will give an error at boot.  I once
found this out with an Acorn scsi card plugged into the back of an
A3000, which had 4meg.  RISC iX did run, but dismally slow.
