erm well yes I agree.

I don't think that a emulation of the host adaptor and a Rodime SCSI
disc as would suite a Filestore is something that we 'already have'.  

If I did a IDE interface it would be compatible with the one we do have,
it may be implemented differently is as much as it may have optional
termination, 1MHzE bus pass through, 2.5" drive connector  etc, but
essentially it would be the same.  I agree that it would not be helpful
to make a new and incompatible one.
