Hmm, I'm not sure what the "standard" is; I've seen black, the very dark grey 
that you mention, and also a lighter grey. Unfortunately I never paid 
attention to the age of the machine to which the keys were attached (but all 
the System keyboards that I've seen have had black keys, perhaps suggesting 
that the black ones were also used on the earliest Atoms?)

(Can't help with keys, unfortunately! I did have a 'junk' Atom with dark-grey 
keys at one point, but I dropped that one off at Bletchley before I moved)
