Ok, few questions before I before I fit some sideways ram.
Will this

(this is the exact datasheet for the chips I have)
work as described here     http://mdfs.net/Info/Comp/BBC/SROMs/32K/
Is it the right speed etc?

Also, is a battery backup for the SW-RAM as simple as 3 AAs and a diode 
connected to the GND and Vcc pins of the chip?
