Hi,
Um... Off topic, but here goes. It'd be about 25 past five (half an hour
ago). Coming back from work, heading west-south-west. I don't know how
long the entire trajectory was, but the part I saw lasted only maybe
three to four seconds. In that time, the "object" sliced through the sky
at an angle that was shallower than 45 degrees, maybe 60? It was a main
part followed halfway by a smaller part, which eventually fizzled out.
The thing glowed brightly, and by that I mean it turned night into day.
Lightning I can look at, but this hurt the eyeballs. As much as
estimations are inaccurate, I'd say it flickered away (in pieces) a mere
100-200 metres off the ground. Probably lucky for the house "La Croix"
which might have been hit otherwise. The thing my mother and I remember
clearly is that it wasn't a straight path, it was wobbling, as if it was
spinning off-axis. You know those fireworks that spin as the rise into
the sky? It was a little bit like that.
I know you're supposed to wish upon a falling star, but nobody mentioned
the star coming, kicking down the door, and shouting "boo!". T'was too
damn close for comfort!
Best wishes,
Rick.
