The reality of today's technology is that the industry expects us to become 
their slaves rather than them become our servants like once before.  That's 
capitalism... yes, it is almost like they are selling the products to us 
and dictating its usage to us.  They're also artificially creating obsolescence 
and forcing us to use newer technology perhaps for greater power and control,
and our gov'ts are complicit to this.  They sell us lousy products to bank
on us paying them for their support.
