Subject: 2nd processor problems
Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to this list, having only been reading posts for the last few
weeks. I'm also returning to the world of BBC micros, having had one from
1984 to around 1990 when I bought a Mac.
Over the last few years I have picked up a Master and a model B, but
recently acquired both 32016 and 6502 "cheese wedge" 2nd processors.
Unfortunately neither seemed to work in either BBC! After realising I needed
to "configure" the tube on the Master, all was well but that still left the
model B to sort out. OK, the obvious mistake was that I didn't have a DNFS
ROM, but now I do and I still can't see the other processors. Endless
Googling has come up with no further troubleshooting steps so I was
wondering if anyone here could tell me what I should do next (apart from buy
another model B from ebay!!).
Actually, I was wondering what use a 6502 2nd processor is (I should have
wondered this before buying it) apart from playing the executive version of
Elite, running existing programs 50% faster or writing more bloated programs
using Hi-BASIC that wouldn't fit in a standard 32k? Did anyone ever release
any other software especially for it?
All help and suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
