I don't think so. I never thought of that. Perhaps I should look for a 
more modern IDE HD. Most of them have an 8MB cache. Good thinking batman.

It is. I was a lot surprised that the HD was slower than the CF. All 
this time I was blaming Dozey bluescreen98 ;-)
