Clever, but I think what was being asked for is a 4 colour MODE 0. Given 
mono used 20K, I'd guess 4 colour would use 40K. Impossible [*] to achieve.

* - you could, I suppose, make an ugly hack to redefine the active
     colour and under interrupt alter that every so-many scanlines,
     then you'd get an 8 colour MODE 0. More if you consider the idea
     of time-differential dithering. I'm not sure the Beeb is quite
     up to altering colours on the fly as a line is being drawn. Either
     way, it'd be a hack, nothing more.
