I'll file that nugget away for future reference :-) I can boot my Cumana 
board from the OS-9 floppy, but I have no idea how to access the hard disk 
(assuming that the hard disk it arrived with is even anything to do with 
it). Maybe the manual sheds some light on this...

The Unicorn manual would be interesting to look at one day, too. As 
mentioned, I have board schematics (and several physical 68k boards), but 
I've never seen an actual unicorn setup (although I suspect my Torch 725 
was near-enough identical, just in an all-in-one case)
