Subject: Last day of teletext in London
DVB includes support for "traditional" teletext as part of the digital data.
(Google for DVB-TXT). In fact, I remember in the early days of digital TV,
several digital terrestrial channels carried traditional teletext services. I
remember particularly because I was rather surprised that it was there!
For a long while, the digital versions of the mainstream BBC channels on
SkyDigital carried a single teletext page, that advised users to press text on
their Digital remote instead of the TV remote.
So there's no technical reason why Ceefax could not have continued into the
digital era.
