Yes, at it's most basic level that's true but this Control IT box has bi-directional 
motor control built in too so I'm assuming that depending on the bits set 
there are different statuses for the motor control ports and ATM I've not
poked (no pun intended) around too much with how they work. Besides some
control software with a defined control language would be pretty cool to
play with.
