Another option may be to source the WDC65c22, which IIRC is still being 
manufactured (along with the WDC65c02), I did buy some a while back and 
so they are available in the UK.

Both seem to be available from Mouser, who though based in the USA ship 
to the UK (pretty quickly from what I remember).

Anyway the 65c22 is here :

Note I have not tried this in the Master, but my Atom clone uses both 
the 65c02 and the 65c22.
