I personally stear clear of Tiff, as I have found it to be problematic, 
for lossless stuff these days I tend to use png. How do the images come 
out size wise if converted to png ?

Unless of course there is a reason for using tiff, e.g. wanting to use 
the files on riscos, wich may not support png (I don't know enough about 
riscos to know).
