I assume he means one of the three official enhanced versions of Elite -
the "SRAM" version (ostensibly for the B+), the Master 128 version, and the
6502 co-pro version. (As far as I know, the only BBC Micro game to ever support
a second processor.)

Elite A was an unofficial modification.
